How we do it
We apply a structured tender process that allows the client to achieve a key goal in the refit process - to make a successful selection of the 'best fit' yard based on accurate cost and time forecasts.
Central to the service will be clarity of requirements from the Captain matched with the capability of yards, A cooperative partnership between the yards and the Owner's representative/s will be fostered to ensure that the Owner's needs are met.
- We are appointed by the Boat Owner in anticipation of a refit period.
- We initially obtain the basic parameters of the refit from the Captain via an easy-to-use yet comprehensive PC-based application
- We then contact yards with a Request For Information (RFI) to see if physical, operational and timing constraints can be met.
- Using a combination of the information gathered from the Captain and our own extensive industry experience we are able to produce an accurate and comprehensive worklist including schedules and clearly defined fixed-price areas.
- We then contact the yards short-listed at the RFI stage with a Request For Proposal (RFP) which contains key terms and conditions in addition to the comprehensive work list.
- The responses from all yards are in a tightly controlled format - this allows us to produce a detailed costs analysis that will allow the Client/Captain to easily compare the bids.
- Once the successful yard has been chosen, we can assist with contractual negotiations.
- If required we can also assist in monitoring the Quality Control milestones which form an integral part of the yard contract in accordance with the RFP.
